Introducing The Series IG451 Hurricane Resistant Storefront System

Waxahachie, Texas, Sept 30, 2009 — The latest addition to the Coast Guard Hurricane Resistant Product line is the StormFront Series IG451 Hurricane Resistant Storefront system. Series IG451 is designed specifically to give commercial glazers an advantage in the hurricane glazing market by using a proven center glaze storefront design that they are familiar with as the basis for a thermally insulated dry glaze hurricane resistant storefront system.
Our market research revealed that a system designed to pass Zone 3 (C-impact & D-impact) criteria could be fabricated to meet the majority of hurricane impact applications while being a cost beneficial system to the industry. The thermally efficient Series IG451 system utilizes 1” impact resistant glass, and requires less metal and glass than current HVHZ systems, producing a clear economic advantage in communities outside of Zone 4 – such as Myrtle Beach, Charleston, Savannah, Jacksonville, Daytona Beach, Orlando, Tampa, Pensacola, New Orleans, Lake Charles, Houston and Corpus Christi.
Like our standard center glaze storefront systems the IG451 can be inside or outside glazed. The thermal break process used for the IG451, our Poly-Aluminizer™ and Struct-Link™, gives the system a .48 U-Value. The 2” x 4 ½” system is designed to work with the StormFront IG600 door, and can accommodate the Series IW7500 window. Available finishes range from custom matched painted coatings to a selection of clear, dark bronze or black anodic finishes.
