Job Summary
Under general direction of the Executive Vice President, is responsible for the successful operation of the facility which includes the day to day business activities of the following departments: Inside Sales Estimating Purchasing Credit Control Manufacturing Service Centers
Job Duties:
1. Participate in the establishment of annual Company Top Priorities including the Business Plan 2. Assist the Department Managers in developing individual action plans for all employees 3. Insure that all individuals are informed of company priorities as well as current business conditions 4. Identify and track important business indicators to ensure successful implementation of company priorities 5. Prepare quarterly and annual performance forecast. Forecast to include all business measures and costs as listed on company financial statements 6. Maintains a strong focus on the manufacturing processes to ensure continuous improvement on our efficiencies, productivity, etc. 7. Achieve promised performance goals to dealer estimating, shop drawing and shipping schedules 8. Analyze inventory levels to ensure adequate stocking of products and appropriate inventory turns 9. Responsible for developing the maximum capability of each Department Manager by providing training, coaching and counseling, career development as well as stimulating efficiency and effectiveness through dynamic leadership and personal example 10. Prepare the annual merit review and evaluate the performance and salary increases for all personnel 11. Oversee the successful implementation of programs that result in the reduction of costs and increase of profits for the organization 12. Review the aging receivables and recommend specific actions for collection and claim settlement 13. Maintain personal contact with dealer organization 14. Work closely with the Regional Sales Manager in establishing pricing and selling strategies 15. Perform special assignments as required
General Qualifications:
- College graduate or equivalent experience with an emphasis on business, manufacturing and/or marketing management
- A minimum of 10 years experience in the architectural building products industry or a related field
- Mechanical aptitude with a general understanding of manufacturing, application engineering and the building sciences
- Proven track record as a team member and effective communicator
- Must be results oriented with a high level of work intensity and a bias for action
- Has demonstrated an appreciation for high quality, professionalism, profitability and leadership

- Management experience with a staff of at least 100 employees of both professional and production personnel

Senior Manufacturing Engineer Waxahachie, TX
Job Summary:
Under direction of the Vice President or General Manager, the focus for the Senior Manufacturing Engineer will be to develop, generate and coordinate operation improvements with in a manufacturing environment.
Job Duties:
- Continuously review plant layout and manufacturing processes and generate operation improvements through the use of methods such as time studies, flow analysis and capacity planning.
- Working within the fabrication environment, develop and initiate new methods for the processing of materials such as: cutting to size, punching/notching, drilling, coping, shearing, assembly, packing and shipping.
- Establish operational and quality standards for production.
- Design fixtures and tooling as necessary to enhance production capabilities.
- Design and develop agronomically sound work cells and stations.
- Assist in the coordinating of quotes for the costing of equipment and building expansion needs as required.
- Assist in the development of new scheduling techniques and implementation of new material flow concepts such as Lean Manufacturing, 5-S, JIT or DFT.
- As required, complete special projects and assignments.
Skills / Requirements Qualifications:
- College graduate with a degree in Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- A mechanical aptitude with a general understanding of product design, application engineering and the building sciences.
- Computer literate with CAD experience.
- Must be able to effectively communicate internally with associates as well as with customers.
- Proven track record as a team member.

- Checking United States Aluminum shop drawings (only for moment of inertia and steel reinforcing. Also, checking perimeter fasteners on a limited basis)
- Product selection. Work with estimators on engineering and selecting appropriate products for bidding purposes.
- Engineering and product selection for clients via daily phone calls.
- Custom product design. (I.e. job-to-job basis for individual shapes or an entire product line)
- Checking client shop drawings as it relates to desired product application.
- Checking custom die drawings as needed.
- Assist manager by training colleagues on new or existing products.
Qualifications:
- Engineering degree (substantial industry experience optional)
- Product knowledge of curtain-wall and storefront assembly. This includes knowledge of appropriate application to certain building types

- Good math skills (trigonometry and geometry preferred).

There is no relocation packet.
The Design Engineer is responsible for designing products in the Residential & Commercial fields. The candidate over sees testing, documentation calculations through Art Work which is required to implement the product. Generate necessary drawings and perform the following Uniform Load Distributions & Dead Loads. Create and maintain for all products:
- Layout drawings
- Bill of Materials
- Operation drawings
- Cut sheets and Cut formulas
- Small part drawings
- Isometric drawings for operation details
- Extrusion drawings
- Make 1st article samples
- Thermo analysis
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural, Industrial Design or Mechanical Engineering. Final semester of school or in a related industry field consideration. Strong computer skills with MS Word, Excel, CAD skills and knowledge of Cadam 2D or SDRC Ideas 3D is a plus.
Must be able to exercise good judgment, be well organized, have excellent oral and written communicationskills, meet deadlines and complete work accurately.

Senior Draftsperson Waxahachie, TX
Job Summary:
Primarily responsible for creating CAD generated drawings of building elevations and mechanical connections of United States Aluminum Corporation (USAC) strorefronts, window walls and curtain walls. This requires thorough knowledge of USAC product line, computer detailing and blueprint reading.
System:
AutoCAD Release 14 and up. 3D Capabilities (plus, but not required).
Job Duties:
- Creating Drawing of Building Elevations and Mechanical Connectors.
- Must interpret architectural drawings combined with USAC quotation. Draw and design products quoted and/or offer recommendations if changes are required.
- Analyze wind load, dead load and snow load on each elevation. Must reinforce and anchor each frame appropriately.
- Perform geometric/trigonometric calculations as needed for each project.
- Provide completed drawing to Inspector for review.
- Submit drawings to customer for approval process.
- Creating Fabrication Drawings
- Create drawing for non-extrusion parts. Drawings provided to Project Coordinator for review and forwarded to Purchasing for pricing purposes.
- Coordinate task with Project Coordinator and Drafting Supervisor.
- Engineering Calculations
- Usually limited to calculations on USAC (PC Software).
- Does not require an engineering degree.
- Calculations usually limited to checking I-value, S-value, and pounds-of-force at anchors.
- Calculations are required for drawings created by draftsperson; also, other departments must be assisted by draftsperson.
- Inspecting Aluminum/Gasket Extrusions
- Dimensional inspection required of various parts. Must accurately review, document and publish finding.
Qualifications:
- High School graduate, with a college degree preferred. Five (5) years of experience in mechanical drafting.
- Knowledge of auto CAD and CADAM systems.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must have the ability to use geometry, trigonometry, decimals and fractions.
- Good analytical problem solving skills.
- Works independently using specialized technical skills. Somewhat autonomous position that utilizes discretion and independent judgment.
